Subaru tire service in Painesville

Subaru Tire Service

At Adventure Subaru, we want to keep our Painesville customers moving forward. Besides keeping your engine healthy, your Subaru needs to have its tires inspected and replaced. Over time, the friction from driving on the asphalt makes your tires dull, which can lead to a dangerous situation. Your car can provide signals that it's time for some new tires. Read below and find out if your Subaru is experiencing these symptoms.

When You May Need New Tires

You know you'll need new tires if:

  • Tread depth is low: tires usually have distinct patterns on them, known as the tread. Examine your tires to see if they look plain or bald. You can also do the "Abe Lincoln test," which involves inserting Abe's head into the tread (head-down). If you can see Abe Lincoln's head, the tread is too low and the tire needs to be replaced.
  • Cracks in the sidewall: take a moment to look at the sidewall of the tire for any cracks, cuts, or grooves. This could be an indication your tire is developing a leak (or potentially forming a blow out).
  • Bulges and blisters on the tire: when the outer surface of the tire begins to weaken, blisters or bulges may form. Look at your tires and find out if you notice any indents which can potentially lead to a problem.
  • Feeling vibrations: while vibrations can be normal at times, too much vibration could suggest issues with the tires. If the vibrations are coming from the tires, it could be related to misalignment, unbalanced wheels, or shock absorbers are starting to get weak. If you are starting to notice this on well-paved roads, it's worth a visit to our service center to see if the wheels are giving your car problems.
