Delivering Warmth to
UH Seidman Cancer Center

Wednesday, July 8, 2026 · Chardon, Ohio

On Wednesday, July 8, our team made a trip to UH Seidman Cancer Center at Geauga Medical Center in Chardon to drop off something we think matters a lot: 80 hand-picked blankets and 10 care kits, along with a stack of personal messages written by our staff and customers here at Adventure Subaru.

The delivery is part of Subaru Loves to Care, a national initiative we participate in each year alongside Blood Cancer United (formerly The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society). The program centers on one simple idea - cancer patients often feel cold, worn down, and isolated during treatment, and a warm blanket paired with a note from a stranger can make a real difference on a hard day.

Joining us on site were Sarah Hopperton, Program Manager, Community Outreach at UH, and several members of the UH Seidman team. We were also joined by Mitch Herman, a blood cancer survivor and Blood Cancer United representative, who brought a perspective to the day that no amount of planning could replicate. Having someone there who has actually been on the receiving end of this kind of care - and who now shows up to help deliver it - says everything about why this program matters.

The blankets, care kits, and messages will go directly to patients in treatment at UH Seidman's Geauga facility. Each care kit includes practical items: a lunch cooler, activity book, colored pencils, grip socks, a water bottle, and more. Each box of blankets also contains a letter with resources from Blood Cancer United, so patients know there is support available beyond their care team.

Subaru and its retailers have supported over 550,000 cancer patients nationwide through this program, with the partnership with Blood Cancer United now more than 10 years strong.

We are proud to be part of that effort, and grateful to the team at UH Seidman for welcoming us and for everything they do for patients in our community every day.
