Community Cat Companions and the ASPCA®: A Partnership for Paws

Community Cat Companions has been buzzing with excitement and gratitude this past month, thanks to a significant boost from the ASPCA® in partnership with Subaru of America’s Subaru Loves Pets® Initiative. Our hearts are filled with joy as we announce receiving a $3,000 grant, a monumental support for our adoption efforts.

This grant was the catalyst for a series of adoption events in October, in collaboration with Adventure Subaru of Painesville, Ohio. It's been a month of heartwarming stories and new beginnings for many kittens.

The highlight was the Homeward Bound adoption event, hosted in the sleek new car showroom at Adventure Subaru. Their commitment went beyond space, as they donated $100 for every cat or kitten adopted, contributing up to $3,100. This generosity led to over 40 kittens finding their forever homes.

Our Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) initiatives often bring us face-to-face with kittens needing homes. This grant and donation made it possible to prepare these little ones for adoption, covering costs like spay/neuter, vaccinations, testing, parasite control, and microchipping.

Cindy Valerio, our Executive Director, couldn’t hide her enthusiasm. “This support from the ASPCA and Adventure Subaru empowers us to save lives and find loving homes for these animals,” she said. “Their dedication to animal welfare is truly commendable.”

A Star Is Born: The Tale of Art and Carol
The month-long celebration took a delightful turn with the story of Art and Carol, two kittens who captured everyone's heart. Through our partnership with Adventure Subaru and PetSmart Charities, we hosted weekly adoption events at the PetSmart in Willoughby.

On October 21, during the Homeward Bound Adoption Event at Adventure Subaru, Art found his forever family. We're overjoyed and eagerly await updates as he grows into a majestic cat.

We're immensely thankful for the opportunity to participate in Subaru Loves Pets Month. It wasn’t just a campaign; it was a celebration of our feline friends, the volunteers who care for them, and the community that welcomes them into their homes.
