At Subaru, the belief is unanimous and clear - every pet, without exception, deserves a loving and warm home. This value reverberates through Subaru’s extensive and impactful initiatives for animal welfare, not just in words but in actions that make a tangible difference.
Subaru's Commitment to Animal Welfare
Subaru stands tall as the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA. Through collective and consistent efforts, Subaru and its retailer community have contributed a whopping $51 million to national and local pet organizations. This substantial aid has successfully enabled the adoption, rescue, transport, and healthcare of almost 420,000 animals.

Subaru Loves Pets Month
October is celebrated as the Subaru Loves Pets month, a period marked with intensified support for shelter pets. Subaru retailers magnify their commitment by hosting impactful adoption events. Each adoption in October translates to a $100 donation, promising substantial support to local animal shelters and affirming Subaru’s dedication to especially assist the older, physically challenged, and last-to-be-chosen shelter cats.
This October, Adventure Subaru, in partnership with Subaru of America, Inc., is collaborating with Lake County Community Cats. The joint mission is aligned with the Subaru Loves Pets initiative, aiming to help countless pets find their forever homes this year.

The Upcoming Adoption Events
In a concrete step towards this goal, Adventure Subaru and Lake County Community Cats are organizing month-long pet adoption events at PetSmart in Willoughby and at Adventure Subaru in Painesville. In line with the spirit of #SubaruLovesPets, each adoption in October from this event will lead to a $100 donation to Lake County Community Cats.
Furthermore, the purchase of select Genuine Subaru Pet-friendly Accessories from Adventure Subaru during October will generate a $20 donation to the ASPCA (up to $10,000).

The Impact
The ASPCA highlights that nearly 6.3 million companion animals are ushered into shelters nationwide every year. Initiatives like Subaru Loves Pets are crucial, providing substantial support and amplifying the chances of these animals finding loving homes.
At Adventure Subaru, the conviction is steadfast. Every pet deserves love, care, and a safe home. By donating $100 to Lake County Community Cats for every pet adopted in October, the commitment to making the world a better place for these animals shines brighter.

About Lake County Community Cats
We are a small organization in Ohio that facilitates targeted trap-neuter-return programs to stabilize local feral cat colonies. We are also an advocate for the humane treatment of these “community cats,” and seek to raise public awareness of feral colonies and their needs.
Trap-Neuter-Return (T-N-R) is a spay/neuter initiative to reduce the feral cat population by managing existing colonies and preventing future litters. T-N-R is the most effective and humane method of controlling populations of feral cats.
Laws/Ordinances don't always allow for humane treatment of feral cats/kittens. Networking with people involved in T-N-R, animal rescue, and with veterinarians and spay/neuter clinics will help to gain support and credibility for your cause. As people are educated about feral cats and understand their value to a community, it becomes easier to implement programs that benefit them. It takes time and patience but the results are worth it.
